How to add a website to Google Webmaster?
Since Google Webmaster is free for all. Thus, you can quickly sign in with your Google account on the webmaster. If you don’t have a google account, then you can create one and can use it for the webmaster.
Once you have successfully created an account and logged in with that, you have to add your website in it. Adding a site is somewhere a complicated process, few of our readers faced some problems while inserting it. So, to avoid all such issues you can follow the below-mentioned steps:
Just after entering the webmaster, you will see a pop-up. That pop up will show you an option to add a property and asking you a website URL. Insert your website URL in the Website URL section and click on the “add property” button.
If you have already added a website to Google webmaster, then you can use the option “Add property” in the left section of the webmaster’s homepage to add another website.
Once you added your website as property then in this step you have to verify your website ownership.
You can verify ownership of the website using methods like HTML file download, HTML tag, Google analytics tracking code, Google tag manager and DNS but we will use the HTML tag method because it is very easy to add HTML tag to any website’s header.
Just copy the Html meta tag and login in to your WordPress dashboard.
In WordPress, you need to navigate to the editor option. So go to Appearance >> editor and select the ‘header.php’ file. Now, simply paste the copied code in the header file and this code should be added between the opening and closing head (<head></head>) tags.
If you have successfully pasted the code then, hit the “verify” option in webmaster, and your website will be verified instantly.
